Looking to move to Highlands? I know of two business opportunities. Get in touch for more info.
Welcome to Highlands, NC–one of the most unique communities in the South. New England charm mixed with Southern hospitality. Fantastic views, vital art and music community, shopping, golf, hiking, waterfalls, lush rhodos: everything you'd expect–and hope for–in a mountain village.
And the best part: in the summertime, we can pretty much count on Highlands at 10-15 degrees cooler than Atlanta or Athens or Greenville, communities just two hours away. In fact, we're often that much cooler than the other "mountain" communities surrounding us. It may be 92 in Dillard, but as you wind your way up the hill, it's fun to watch the temperature drop.
I'm Bert Mobley. For years, I looked for a way to move to the mountains–and about five years ago, I did it. In fact, I'm probably one of the few people in the entire Southeast who lives in a house without air conditioning. Perhaps not the best claim to fame, but one I'll gladly accept.
I'd like to help you become familiar with this area. As a Realtor with Harry Norman, I have the opportunity to look all around the moutains up here–from Lake Toxaway to Scaly Mountain. I'd love to show you around, show you what's available, help you find exactly what you're looking for. The Scaly area is often popular with Atlanta area owners because they're that much closer to "home" on a Friday afternoon. On the other end, Toxaway, NC's largest private lake, is a paradise of water and mountains–and even that is only 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta!
My goal with this site is to keep you, my clients and potential clients, updated on what's going on up here. Highlands is not immune to the economic conditions that challenge the entire country, but as a potential buyer, this is good news. Prices have come down; sellers are listening to offers.
Now may be the best time in a long, long time to make your move. And I'll help however I can.
Go to Bert's Page to get my latest perspective on the market....and life in the mountains.

www.highlandsrealestate.com is the main Harry Norman site for Highlands. Here you can see all of our properties as well as search properties throughout the Highlands/Cashiers multiple listing service.
Go to the HELPFUL LINKS page to keep updated about all that's going on in Highlands and the surrounding area.
And, by the way, this site is fairly new, and I'm sure I'll have a few stumbles along the way. But, in the long run, I want to help you as best I can and make this a practical, easy-to-use tool for you to know all you can about the area and property in the area.
